Department Profile

The Zoology Honours Programme has a curriculum that provides a comprehensive study of animal world and offers courses in several fields of biological sciences like biotechnology, cell and molecular biology, genomics, immunology, biochemistry and environmental biology etc. The Honours course gives in depth knowledge of various subjects and provides opportunities to pursue higher studies in various interdisciplinary areas such as Life Sciences, Bio-technology, Cell & Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences and Environmental Sciences. Applied Post Graduate courses in Agriculture Entomology, Agrochemistry, Forestry and Wild life can also be pursued. Zoology is also offered as one of the subjects in B.Sc. Life Sciences. The Faculty of the Department is highly qualified, experienced and dedicated and in areas of their specialization, with many of them having done post doctoral work with publications in Journals of repute.
