Department Profile

The study of History provides an indepth analysis and understanding of the progress of mankind throughout the world. The syllabus enables the students to develop a historical perspective about developments in India as well as all the significant events of the world. It helps them to understand the cause and the consequences of the event historically. Apart from teaching and research, the study of history in an important input in almost every field including Management, Media Art or Journalism.

The Department offers BA Honours Course consisting of 9 papers spread over 3 years. At the Post-graduate level, The Department also takes tutorials for MA Part-I and Part-II Courses. History is also offered as a courses subject in B.A.
