Department Profile

The study of Political Science provides an in depth understanding of Political Theory and Ideas, International Relations, Comparative Politics and Political Systems, Indian Politics and the Administrative State apart from many other fields. Apart from sharpening analytical skills and intellectual potential the study of Political Science opens avenues for entry into carriers in Civil Services, Management, Journalism, Law, NGOs, and other agencies with a focus on Gender studies, Human Rights, Development, Foreign Relations etc. Political Science teaching and research is an option explored by many students of Political Science. The faculty has dedicated and experienced teachers.

The department offers B.A. Honours Courses in Political Science spread over three years covering different areas. The subject is offered as a B.A. Course and as an additional course for other B.A. Honours Courses. The Department conducts tutorials at the Post-Graduate level.
