All applicants seeking admission to the College should read the Bulletin of Information issued by the University of Delhi. The minimum eligibility requirements for admission to various courses shall be specified in that bulletin.

For admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s Degree Course, an applicant should be 17 years of age before the first day of October in the year in which she seeks admission. For admission to the Master’s Degree Course the minimum age requirement is 20 years before the first day of October in the year in which the applicant seeks admission.

Admissions are made purely on merit and admission to a course will be stopped once the seats are filled.

No admission shall be entertained without a duly submitted preliminary application form. No application for admission will be accepted after the notified last date.

Admission to all courses are routed through various committees constituted for the purpose. Applicants are requested not to approach the Principal in connection with admissions.

Waiting lists for admission if required shall consist of applicants who have already applied before the last date of submission of application forms.

No individual intimation regarding admission will be sent. All notifications regarding admission to various courses will be put up on the College notice boards.

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

1) Every candidate will apply to the college on a Preliminary Registration form available from the college office along with the prospectus or separately. The Preliminary form should be filled up with all the required details. Certificates or attested copies thereof are not required with this application.

2) A candidate who wishes to be considered for more than one course should submit a separate application for each course. Only candidates who have applied for a particular course will be considered for admission to that course. All applications should be handed in the College at the specified counters. Applications may also be mailed to the College.

3) The first (and subsequent) admission lists will be put up on the college notice board on the dates according to the Admission Schedule announced by the University of Delhi.

4) Candidates who qualify according to the criteria stated therein and have applied for admission to the College will report to the Departmental Admission in charge in the room allotted between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. with required documents.

The original and one attested photocopy of the following documents are to be submitted at the time of admission:

(a) Provisional certificate from the institution last attended.

(b) Marks sheet of the examination passed.

(c) Secondary School Certificate (class X) issued by the Board/
University for date of birth.

(d) A separate character certificate from the institution last attended in case it is not a part of (a) above.

(e) Three copies of recent unattested passport size photographs

5) After obtaining the recommendations of the Departmental admission in charge, the candidate will report to the Convenor of Admissions.

6) On getting her candidature confirmed, the candidate will deposit fees with the college cashier. Fees are payable by a crossed local demand draft drawn in favour of Principal, Daulat Ram College. Admission is finalized only on payment of fees. It should therefore be done within the time mentioned in the college admission list notification.

7) No individual intimation regarding admission will be sent. All notices regarding admission will be displayed on the college Notice Board from time to time.

8) Once the Admissions Committee has taken a decision on a candidate’s application for admission, the college will not entertain any personal representation, correspondence or telephonic enquiry on the subject.

9) The college reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason.

Note:

i) Forms incomplete in any respect will be rejected.

ii) Seeking admission on the basis of false information or identity, misrepresentation or by submitting false certificates/ documents is unlawful and will cause cancellation of admission. Such cases may be reported to the police by the college.

»  For admission to Ist year of Bachelor Degree Course
1.
An applicant must have passed Senior School Certificate (10+2) or the Indian School Certificate (12 years) or an equivalent Examination recognised by Delhi University.
   
2.
An applicant should be seventeen years of age on or before Ist October, 2008
   
3. Gap year cases will be considered according to Delhi University norms.

Application for admission to the college should be made on the prescribed form which is available with the prospectus. Prospectus is available in the college office against payment of Rs. 60/-. Admission form may also be downloaded on and sent/mailed to the college along with Demand Draft Rs. 60/- Payable to Principal, Daulat Ram College, to the adress mentioned below:

Students may apply for more than one course. For each course a separate form should be filled.

Completed forms for both College and Hostel should be submitted in the college office as per date notified in the Delhi University Schedule. Important dates

The list of applicants selected/cut off % will be put up on the college notice board as per programme notified by the Delhi University. Announcements

The applicants should present themselves in person for admission. The applicant should bring the following documents:
  a) Three unattested, passport size recent photographs.
  b) Original Certificates:
       - Certificate of class X for date of birth. (D.O.B. Certificate)
       - Mark sheet of class XII. (should bring originals)
       - Character Certificate and Provisional Certificate from the institution last attended.
 

c) Attested photocopies of the above certificates.

Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) applicant should attach a Certificate to the effect in her own name.

   
9.

Every student shall be required to sign a declaration to submit to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Principal, Vice-Chancellor and other authorities in accordance with the Statutes and Ordinances of Delhi University.

10.
All admissions are subject to the approval of University of Delhi.
   
  Note: Admission to B.A. (Honours) English Course will be through an Entrance Test from the year 2002 onwards.
»   For Admission to M.A. (Previous) an Applicants
1.
Must have passed the Bachelor Degree examination (10+2+3).
   
2.
Should be twenty years of age before 1st October, 2008.
   
3. The previous academic record should be of high standard.
   
4.

For admission to M.A., students must also apply directly to the appropriate Faculty in University. No decision regarding admission to the college will be taken prior to the preliminary selection by the University.

»   Reserved Categories
1.
Scheduled caste/tribe students should get themselves registered with the University of Delhi. They will be admitted on the basis of provisional admission slip issued by the University.
   
2.
Students claiming the benefit of handicapped quota/children of officers and men of Armed Forces killed or disabled in war are required to get their names registered with the Delhi University Office. A maximum of 5% seats are reserved for the above.
   
3.
Admission of foreign students is handled by the Foreign Students Advisor, C/o Department of Business Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. No foreign student is admitted directly by the college. Registration with the foreign Students' Advisor, University of Delhi, and a letter there from regarding her eligibility and clearance for her holding student's visa is required for admission in the college. As per University rule an amount of Indian Rupees equivalent of US$ 100 per year will be paid by every foreign student.
»   Foreign Students
Admission of foreign students is handled by the Foreign Students Advisor, C/o Department of Business Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. No foreign student is admitted directly by the college unless she produces a letter from the foreign Students'Advisor, University of Delhi, regarding her eligibility and clearance for her holding student's visa. As per University rule an amount of Indian Rupees equivalent of US$ 100 per year will be paid by every foreign student.
»   For Admission on Sports/Extra-Curricular basis
1.
Students applying under Sports/Extra-currular category should submit their application forms at the separate Sports Counter.
   
2.
Participation at Inter-Zonal level is essential.
   
3.
Students should contact the Teacher Incharge, Physical Education, for the details.
   
4.

Date for the sports trials and other details will be notified on the sports notice board/Online. Interested students should come in uniform for practical tests. Certificate in original should be brought alongwith.

   
5. The date for performance tests for Extra-curricular Activities will be notified on the college notice board/Online.
»   Hostel Admission
Step 1

Students seeking hostel accommodation should submit a separate hostel application form (attached to the Hostel Prospectus) by the notified date at the time of registration for admission to the college. Application for the hostel should be submitted separately to the Hostel Office by the same date as the last date of submission of application for admission to the college.

Step 2

Immediately after the process of admission to the college is completed with the payment of fees, students seeking admission in the Hostel and who have applied for admission by the last date as in Step One, are required to register themselves at the Hostel Office and submit the counterfoil of their hostel application form and receipt of fees deposited in the college, along with a copy of Class XII marksheet.

Please note without registration in the hostel, admission to the hostel will not be considered.
